Accommodations

Our recommended hotels and how to get the discounted rate. We are recommending four hotels where we have negotiated a discounted rate that is good so long as 1) they still have rooms in our booking block, and 2) you book at least a month in advance. If you do contact a hotel, use the Discount Code: Informing Science Conference – InSITE2020.

These four options provide delegates with a range of value-based options according to their own tastes. The table below summarises these options. (Note: hotel rates in Cambodia vary according to occupancy, so prices are based on either single or double occupancy).

All hotels include WiFi and a very decent breakfast.

While each of these hotels is a good option. The one we recommend as providing best value and convenience is the SUNWAY HOTEL.

(Be sure to read "Getting there" for information about getting from your hotel to the conference venue.)

Low Cost, but still decent quality; closer to the action in the city.

Cannot walk to NUM - there is no footpath, and the traffic is erratic. However, it is only $1 by tuk tuk.

Don’t want to follow our recommendations?  There are many, many other hotels of all price ranges downtown.

Recommended Area of the City.  The first three of the four hotels recommended are near the University (NUM) in an area called Wat Phnom which is a picturesque Buddhist Temple (just minutes from the first 2 hotels). In this precinct is NUM and also the American Embassy. However, there is a lot of 'action' in the downtown area and along the riverside. These are both around 1km away, and will cost just 1USD by tuk tuk. Please note that it is not safe to walk in most of the city streets and roads as there are no footpaths - meaning that you will need to walk on the road - along with the constant procession of cars, scooters and tuk tuks.
