The best way to get to your hotel when you fly into San Francisco is by Uber. The base price is approximately $50 for a regular car that seats a few and about $60 for an SUV that seats up to six. Of course, Uber uses surge pricing, so if you arrive at a peak time, the price will be higher. See https://www.uber.com/global/en/r/airports/sfo/pickup/
$50-60 for up to 6 people
Most other ways take you to the San Jose airport. Then you would take an Uber that costs between $15 and $30.
If you have lots of travel funds, you can even arrange for an Uber driver to wait for your arrival and/or travel in a fancy car or van.
Your downtown hotel is a short walk to the university's library where the conference is being held.
Free parking is available downtown and in certain city areas after 6 p.m. and on weekends.
