Findings: The Hebrew and Greek Bibles are filled with instances where the characters, even G-d, appears to have lied, and commentators have drawn wisdom from these.

Recommendations for Researchers: When noting fake news, ask why the news with its falsehoods are present-ed. That is, determine if the news is an eisegesis or an exegeses.
