Carlos Andrés Obando Villarreal is a problem-solver driven by a deep sense of social responsibility, and also an engineer. Originally trained in Mechatronics and later specialized in educational technologies, Carlos turned a personal commitment into a professional mission: to build mobile apps that make life more navigable for people with visual and hearing impairments.
In this interview, conducted by Josueth Meza and Ana Montenegro in December 2024, Carlos speaks openly about his journey: from learning software development on his own to founding TALOV, Inc., and earning international recognition. He discusses how living in Germany shaped his understanding of accessibility and why he chose to bring those values back to Latin America.
More than just a technical conversation, this dialogue uncovers Carlos's belief in inclusive design, his persistence through early failures, and his vision of using AI to foster digital equity—especially in regions where access is still limited. His story offers inspiration and practical lessons for anyone interested in socially driven innovation.
